SECRET CHURCH LIVESTREAM

Join us in the Way of the Lord Sanctuary on Friday, April 17, at 6 PM as we take part in Secret Church 2026 with David Platt, livestreaming alongside tens of thousands of believers around the world. This powerful evening will include deep Bible teaching on the life of Elijah, urgent prayer for the persecuted church, and an opportunity for sacrificial giving shaped by the witness and faith of persecuted Christians around the world. You will be challenged by God’s Word, stirred by global need, and reminded that following Jesus is worth everything.

The livestream runs from 6 PM to midnight, but you are welcome to stay for as little or as long as you are able. Snacks and refreshments will be available in the Java Gate Coffee Corner, and you are also welcome to bring your own snacks or beverage.Come ready to be confronted, comforted, challenged, and compelled by God’s Word and His call on your life.

GATHERING FOR GOING

Saturday, April 18 | 10:00 AM

As a church family, we don’t just gather to worship — we gather to listen, discern, and move forward together. Our quarterly Gathering For Going is a vital “Body Meeting” where we come before the Lord in worship and prayer, and thoughtfully engage the important matters shaping our life as a community.

During this time, we will share meaningful ministry updates, progress on our leadership transition, and developments related to our building and future vision. Most importantly, there will be space for you to ask questions and hear directly from the elders. These conversations strengthen unity, build trust, and help us walk forward in clarity and peace.

Because these gatherings happen only four times a year, they are essential touchpoints for the health and direction of our church family. Please make it a priority to join us on April 18 at 10 AM as we seek the Lord together and step faithfully into what He has for our community.

TEEN CHALLENGE

We are thrilled to welcome Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge to our Sunday morning service on April 19th followed by a community meal right after church!

This is always a powerful and moving time as men and women from the program come to sing, share testimonies, and celebrate the life-changing power of Jesus. Come ready to be encouraged, challenged, and reminded of the God who redeems and restores every broken story.

🍪 After the Service: We are inviting everyone to stay for a community meal in the Fellowship Hall! This will be a special chance to enjoy fellowship together, meet our Teen Challenge guests, hear stories, and encourage one another around the table.

📦 What to Bring: To help make the meal possible, singles are asked to bring one side dish—such as a salad, fruit, or dessert—and families are asked to bring one main dish and one side dish. Please bring enough to share generously with our Teen Challenge guests!

If you would like to help with setting out food, serving, setup, or cleanup, click here to contact Kathy Alberts.

Let’s come together to bless these men and women and you just might find that you'll be blessed in return.

MEN'S RETREAT

Men of Way of the Lord — Join us for a weekend of brotherhood, freedom, and renewal in Christ at Camp Koronis on April 24–26. Guest speaker Jim Anderson of Lifeline Ministries will help us rediscover our God-given identity as sons, husbands, fathers, and leaders.

CHILD DEDICATIONS

Sunday, May 3 – During Our Morning Service

“Children are a heritage from the Lord.” (Psalm 127:3)

We are excited to celebrate and honor the new life God is bringing into our church family! Child dedications are a beautiful opportunity for parents to publicly commit to raising their children in the ways of Jesus, and for our church body to pray, bless, and stand alongside them in that calling.

If you would like to have your child dedicated on Sunday, May 3rd, we invite you to sign up by contacting the church office at 763-755-4800 or emailing Audrey at office@wayofthelord.org.

BIBLE READING
PLAN

Join us for our next church-wide Bible Reading Plan as we journey through the New Testament from May 3 through September 12, 2026!

Together we’ll walk through Luke and Acts, tracing the life, teachings, death, resurrection, and mission of Jesus and His Church; then move into 1 Corinthians, Philippians, and Ephesians, where we’ll be shaped in holiness, unity, joy, maturity, and life in the Spirit; then into the Gospel of John and 1 John, where we’ll behold the glory of Jesus and grow deeper in truth, love, and abiding in Him; and finally we’ll spend four slower weeks in Revelation, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the hope of His return, true worship, faithful endurance, and God’s final victory.

Our Sunday messages will follow along with the reading plan, helping us grow together as one church family in the Word. Let's seek the Lord together, hear His voice in Scripture, and let His Word shape our hearts, homes, and church in this next season.

How to Join In >>>

📲 Digital Plan: Go to wayofthelord.org/bibleplan to view or download the full 16-week plan.

📄 Printed Copies: Printed reading plans will be available on the table in the foyer—grab one for yourself, your family, or your small group.

BIKES4KIDS

OPPORTUNITY

Way of the Lord family—our Food Shelf has had the joy of partnering with Bikes4Kids, and God has used it to bless our community in a big way. We’ve already given out hundreds of bikes through this program! 🙌

Now we want to spread out the joy of distribution across the Body, and we’re looking for a few adults to help us keep this going strong—without overloading Cindy.

What we need help with:

Picking up bikes at Bikes4Kids (Constance & 65 / Ham Lake area)

Setting them up / prepping them (at your pace—no rush schedule)

Helping with distribution

What’s coming up:

🚲 We can pick up a new batch of bikes every month

🎉 Our first distribution will be in March

If you’d love to be part of this (even occasionally), this is such a practical way to serve families and put Jesus’ love on display.

Interested? Click here to email or call Cindy Stokes, and we’ll get you plugged in!

PRAYER WALL &

ART CORNER

One of the quiet treasures in our church has been the Prayer Wall & Art Corner on the south wall of our foyer. For years, it’s been a place to display original, God-inspired content—paintings, drawings, poems, Scriptures, and creative expressions—and also a place where we can share prayer requests and support one another in prayer.

Over the past season, Irene Hilliard has graciously invested her time, creativity, and energy to make this wall more usable and interactive for all of us. We’re so grateful for her heart to help our church family connect, encourage, and build one another up. Here’s the invitation for this season: anyone in the church is welcome to “design” the Prayer Wall for a month at a time.

A family, a Home Group, a ministry team, a group of friends, or an individual—everyone is invited.

How to sign up: There is a sign-up sheet on the right side of the wall. Simply choose a month and take ownership of that month’s “prayer mandate” focus.

🌿 Vision: We’d love for the wall to be interactive—as much as possible engaging the 5 senses—so it becomes a living, participatory space where we pray, reflect, and encourage one another. This is a practical way for us to share life, share inspiration, and join together in the beautiful vision of community God has called us to.

Example (March): You’re invited to lay hands on different ministry letters on the wall as a way to impart Aaron’s blessing and speak God’s favor over the ministries of our church.

This is very much in the spirit of 1 Corinthians 14:26“When you come together, each one has…”—a simple way for us to bring our “each one has” to the family.

And as we pray, we’re believing for the kind of life and healing pictured in Revelation 22:2—fruit in every season and “leaves…for the healing of the nations.”

For more information and questions, contact Irene at 763-200-4334.

AZURE HEALTHY

FOOD PROGRAM

We have a great new way to stock up on healthy food and bless Way of the Lord! Way of the Lord is now a drop site for Azure Standard’s “Around the Table” program. When people choose our drop for their orders, WOTL receives 2% back on those orders (paid out quarterly).

What is Azure Standard? A Christian, family-owned company in Oregon offering natural/health foods, regular produce, and pantry staples—basically most things you’d find at a grocery store (plus many hard-to-find items).

How to join:

  1. Visit Azure Standard and add items to your cart.

  2. At checkout, select “Find a drop near me.” Choose “Way of the Lord Drop.”

  3. Important: Use promo code WayoftheLord15 on your first order. This gives you 15% off that first order and links your account to WOTL for future credit (no need to use it again after your first order).

Delivery & Pickup:

  • Orders arrive once a month.

  • The truck meets in the back parking lot (near the back pond / dumpsters / wooded area).

  • Azure emails your pickup date/time about a week beforehand (it varies monthly).

Next order cutoff? TBD

Questions or tips on what to order?

Reach out to Ellie Salley, Anja Buuck, or Britta Anderson.

PRAYER MINISTRY

We endeavor to be a heart knit and relationally based community empowered by the Holy Spirit that deeply cares about your personal, spiritual, and emotional needs. Every week immediately after our service, we have prayer ministry teams available up front at our altar. Please do not hesitate to receive prayer from one of our compassionate and prophetic prayer ministry teams.

Prayer Ministry Team C is scheduled this week.

Furthermore, if you would like to join this ministry, please contact John Zupek (johnzupek@gmail.com).

INTERCESSION

The engine that drives the ship in the Kingdom of God is prayer.

We value and encourage you to prioritize both:

  • Warfare Wednesday Prayer at 7 PM

  • Friday Night Intercession at 7 PM

  • Sunday Gathering Unto Him at 7 PM

Also, our Way of the Lord House of Prayer has many open 1-hour shifts that can be filled either by coming on-site to our prayer room or by praying at home. Email John Zupek (johnzupek@gmail.com) to sign up for a shift!

THE FUTURE

For decades, God has been so faithful to our church and to Northside Christian School. Many of you have prayed, given, served, and poured yourselves out so that generations could meet Jesus, be discipled, and be sent out.

Now we sense the Lord inviting us to take another step of faith together.

Under the banner of “Honoring the Past and Embracing the Future,” we are moving forward with plans to build a new gymnasium that will serve both our church and our school—a space for worship gatherings, chapels, kids and youth ministry, community events, outreach, and everyday discipleship.

Why a Gym? Why Now?

This is more than a building project—it’s an investment into people and the future of what God is doing here.

  • A place where students will hear the gospel, grow in character, and encounter Jesus.

  • A place where our church family can gather, worship, celebrate, and serve together.

  • A place that says to the next generation: “We believe in what God wants to do in and through you.”

We believe the time is now because:

  • God has already begun stirring hearts and opening doors.

  • Our current spaces are stretched, and the opportunities for ministry are growing.

  • Waiting years down the road could mean missed opportunities to reach and disciple the kids, students, and families God is bringing to us right now.

Look What God Has Already Done! 🙌

We want you to be encouraged:

We have already raised $900,000 toward our $2,500,000 goal.

That means we are already over 36% of the way there! 🎉

Our next big milestone:
👉 Once we reach the $2,000,000 mark, we’ll be able to break ground.

How Can You Be Part of This?

First and foremost, we are asking every person and every family to:

PRAY

  • Pray that Jesus would be exalted in this whole process.

  • Pray for unity, faith, and wisdom for our church and school leadership.

  • Pray that this gym will be used to reach many with the gospel and to make disciples.

ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT

  • Ask: “Lord, how do You want me (and my family) to invest in this?”

  • This could be a one-time gift, a monthly commitment, a creative sacrifice, or even a step of faith you wouldn’t naturally take without God’s leading.

BE READY FOR A CONVERSATION

  • In the coming weeks and months, you can expect a more formal ‘ask’ in a home group or small group setting.

  • We want to share more details, answer questions, and give everyone a chance to engage personally.

  • Our heart is not pressure, but invitation—inviting you to join in what God is doing.

Family, we truly believe this is a Kingdom moment for Way of the Lord and Northside Christian School. Let’s thank God for His faithfulness in the past, and step forward together in faith for the future.

NEW ACTS BIBLE CLASS ON 1 CORINTHIANS

We are excited to invite you to an upcoming ACTS class, co-sponsored by ACTS Bible College and Way of the Lord Church leadership, as we study Paul’s first letter to the church in Corinth.

This class is for both fellow seekers and believers who want to grow in their understanding of God’s Word and explore how the message of 1 Corinthians speaks powerfully to Jesus-followers today.

One unique feature of this class is that each session will be largely stand-alone. That means even if you are not able to attend every class, you can still come for a specific topic without feeling lost because you missed previous sessions.

The class will meet on alternate Wednesday nights from 7:00–8:00 PM in the ACTS classroom at the Genesis building, beginning April 29.

Please note: the class does not meet on the Wednesdays in between these scheduled dates.

Below is the schedule of dates and topics:

April 29 — 1 Corinthians 1–2
Background on Corinth and its pagan culture; the problem of divisions within the church; and what it means to have “the mind of Christ” in contrast to the so-called wisdom of the world.

May 13 — 1 Corinthians 3–4
What are we building our lives with? Wood, hay, straw, or gold, silver, and precious stones? Also, when is it appropriate to “judge?”

May 27 — 1 Corinthians 5–6
How should the church respond to unrepented sin in its midst? Do we simply forgive, or is some form of discipline essential for the Body and for the individual? We will also explore what it means for our body, and the Body, to be a temple of the Lord, and how that shapes our choices without becoming overly legalistic.

June 10 — 1 Corinthians 7
Marriage, singleness, divorce, and remarriage. What does a fair and righteous Christian ethic look like as we wait for our Lord’s return?

June 24 — 1 Corinthians 8–9
How do we participate in the world around us without being controlled by it? What does it mean to become “all things to all people?” And how should we think about loving others, and even loving ourselves, rightly?

July 8 — 1 Corinthians 10
Learning from Old Testament examples. Does that really work and how should those examples shape our lives today?

July 22 — 1 Corinthians 11
Gender roles, women in ministry, and the practice of Communion. Was Paul giving a timeless bottom line or addressing temporary issues in these areas?

August 5 — 1 Corinthians 12 and 14
The gifts of the Spirit, tongues, prophecy, and other miraculous gifts. Do they still operate today in the same way as in days past?

August 19 — 1 Corinthians 13
What is Christian love, and how is it different from every other kind of love? Why is love even more important than supernatural gifts such as healing and prophecy?

September 2 — 1 Corinthians 15–16
The resurrection of Christ and the hope of our own resurrection. How do we live as faithful stewards of all we are and all we have as we await His return and the fullness of His Kingdom?

We hope you will join us for this rich and timely study. Whether you come to one session or all eight, our prayer is that these evenings would help ground you more deeply in Scripture and encourage you in your walk with Jesus.
