TWINKLE TOES
Twinkle Toes Kids Dance Classes
Kids dance classes are back at Way of the Lord beginning Tuesday, October 13!
Led by Nicole Rodman, Twinkle Toes and Steps of Grace offer kids a fun, encouraging environment where they can learn dance, develop coordination and confidence, build friendships, and discover how movement and dance can be an expression of worship.
Twinkle Toes | Ages 3–6
Tuesdays | 6:00–6:40 PM
A fun introduction to dance featuring creative movement, songs, basic dance skills, coordination, simple choreography, team building, and lots of opportunities to grow in confidence.
Steps of Grace | Ages 7–13
Tuesdays | 6:40–7:25 PM
Designed for older kids who are ready to grow in their dance skills through intermediate choreography and movement, while developing confidence, friendship, leadership, and opportunities for individual expression.
The Heart Behind the Classes
Nicole has a passion for dance and for passing that love on to the next generation. As a mom herself, she wants kids to have a positive and strengthening environment for both their bodies and their spirits.
The goal is simple: to give kids a joyful introduction to dance, help them learn new skills, develop coordination, make friends, grow in confidence, and learn to use dance as a way to worship the Lord.

Vision Series: Walking the Way Together
Sundays, September 13–November 8
Over the next nine weeks, we’re taking a deeper look at the vision God has given Way of the Lord and the four shifts that will help us live it out together. This isn’t simply a series about where our church is going—it’s an invitation for each of us to take the next step in becoming disciples of Jesus who make disciples. As we journey together, we’re asking one simple question: “Lord, what is the next small, faithful step You’re asking me to take?”
Come ready to listen, respond, and walk the Way of the Lord together as a covenant family.
FATHER & SON NIGHTS

For fathers and sons of ALL ages this time!
This is becoming a regular (almost every month) rhythm as we gather for games, food, Scripture, prayer, and intentional discipleship.
This is especially geared toward fathers with younger sons, ages 6 and up, but older sons — including high school and college age — are welcome too. The goal is simple: to invest in our sons, strengthen relationships, and help train up the next generation of men to walk with Jesus in wisdom, courage, humility, and strength.
Who’s invited:

Our food shelf is such an incredible outreach and ministry to hundreds of families in the North Metro. It is open on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, as well as open to our congregation on Sundays after church following the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays. Also, we are in need of more plastic bags! So if you would like to volunteer to serve or simply drop off some plastic bags, please talk to Geri Buck or email the church at office@wayofthelord.org.

Flourish is planning a special field trip to Salt & Light, a local wellness spa right here in our community!
We’ll tour the facility and gather privately in the salt cave for fellowship, Bible study, refreshments, and an encouraging afternoon centered on caring for the whole person—body, soul, and spirit.
We need a few more ladies to sign up before we can finalize this private event, so please contact Julie or Dawn if you would like to attend. If the field trip cannot be finalized, Flourish will still meet in the Parenting Room from 1:00–3:00 PM. More details and final confirmation will follow!

PLAN
New Bible Reading Plan: Walking the Way Together
September 13–December 25, 2026
This fall, we’re inviting the whole Way of the Lord family to read Scripture together through a new daily Bible reading plan that follows where we’re going as a church. Beginning September 13, the readings will walk alongside our Sunday teaching—first through the Four Ships of Worship, Discipleship, Fellowship, and Stewardship, and then into a season centered on one great truth: Jesus Is Everything.
Along the way, we’ll trace the promise of the Messiah through the Old Testament, journey through Hebrews, and finish the year in 1 & 2 Peter, learning what it means to live faithfully until Jesus comes.
Our hope is that this will be more than simply checking off a daily reading. We want to become a people formed by the Word of God together—families, individuals, small groups, and the whole church hearing the same Scriptures and responding to the Lord together. As you read each day, keep asking the same question we’re carrying through our Vision Series: “Lord, what is the next small, faithful step You’re asking me to take?”

We have a great new way to stock up on healthy food and bless Way of the Lord! Way of the Lord is now a drop site for Azure Standard’s “Around the Table” program. When people choose our drop for their orders, WOTL receives 2% back on those orders (paid out quarterly).
What is Azure Standard? A Christian, family-owned company in Oregon offering natural/health foods, regular produce, and pantry staples—basically most things you’d find at a grocery store (plus many hard-to-find items).

PRAYER MINISTRY
We endeavor to be a heart knit and relationally based community empowered by the Holy Spirit that deeply cares about your personal, spiritual, and emotional needs. Every week immediately after our service, we have prayer ministry teams available up front at our altar. Please do not hesitate to receive prayer from one of our compassionate and prophetic prayer ministry teams.

THE FUTURE
For decades, God has been so faithful to our church and to Northside Christian School. Many of you have prayed, given, served, and poured yourselves out so that generations could meet Jesus, be discipled, and be sent out.
Now we sense the Lord inviting us to take another step of faith together.
Under the banner of “Honoring the Past and Embracing the Future,” we are moving forward with plans to build a new gymnasium that will serve both our church and our school—a space for worship gatherings, chapels, kids and youth ministry, community events, outreach, and everyday discipleship.
Why a Gym? Why Now?
This is more than a building project—it’s an investment into people and the future of what God is doing here.

A place where students will hear the gospel, grow in character, and encounter Jesus.

A place where our church family can gather, worship, celebrate, and serve together.

A place that says to the next generation: “We believe in what God wants to do in and through you.”
We believe the time is now because:

Our current spaces are stretched, and the opportunities for ministry are growing.

Waiting years down the road could mean missed opportunities to reach and disciple the kids, students, and families God is bringing to us right now.

MOMS GROUP
Moms Group
Motherhood is a gift—but it was never meant to be walked alone.
For more than 11 years, our Moms Group has been a place for moms of young children to slow down, connect, worship, pray, laugh, share life, and encourage one another in the beautiful and demanding calling of motherhood. Our desire is to help one another grow in our relationship with Jesus, love our families well, and raise children who know, love, and serve the Lord.
Each gathering includes a light meal, worship, fellowship, biblical encouragement, and plenty of space to build real friendships with other moms who are walking through the same season of life.
Our fall gatherings begin Wednesday, October 7!

Bring the kids!
Babysitting is provided so moms can participate, connect, and be refreshed while knowing their little ones are being cared for nearby.
We also need babysitters! Our Moms Group has been growing—with lots of little ones—and we would love a few more women who have a heart for serving young moms by loving and caring for their children during the gathering.
Whether you're exhausted, thriving, somewhere in between, or simply longing for deeper community, there's a place for you here. Come as you are, bring a friend, and join us!
PRAYER WALL &
ART CORNER
One of the quiet treasures in our church has been the Prayer Wall & Art Corner on the south wall of our foyer. For years, it’s been a place to display original, God-inspired content—paintings, drawings, poems, Scriptures, and creative expressions—and also a place where we can share prayer requests and support one another in prayer.
Over the past season, Irene Hilliard has graciously invested her time, creativity, and energy to make this wall more usable and interactive for all of us. We’re so grateful for her heart to help our church family connect, encourage, and build one another up. Here’s the invitation for this season: anyone in the church is welcome to “design” the Prayer Wall for a month at a time.
A family, a Home Group, a ministry team, a group of friends, or an individual—everyone is invited.
✅ How to sign up: There is a sign-up sheet on the right side of the wall. Simply choose a month and take ownership of that month’s “prayer mandate” focus.
🌿 Vision: We’d love for the wall to be interactive—as much as possible engaging the 5 senses—so it becomes a living, participatory space where we pray, reflect, and encourage one another. This is a practical way for us to share life, share inspiration, and join together in the beautiful vision of community God has called us to.
Example (March): You’re invited to lay hands on different ministry letters on the wall as a way to impart Aaron’s blessing and speak God’s favor over the ministries of our church.
This is very much in the spirit of 1 Corinthians 14:26—“When you come together, each one has…”—a simple way for us to bring our “each one has” to the family.
And as we pray, we’re believing for the kind of life and healing pictured in Revelation 22:2—fruit in every season and “leaves…for the healing of the nations.”

FRIDAY FAMILY WORSHIP WATCH
Friday Family Watch
Building the Ark Together. Discipling Every Generation.
First Friday of Each Month | 6:00–7:00 p.m.
Beginning Friday, October 2
Friday Family Watch is a monthly gathering for families to worship Jesus together, grow as disciples, and intentionally build strong, Christ-centered homes.
As a church family, we believe God has called us to love and disciple every generation into the family of God. Friday Family Watch is one practical way we want to live that out—creating space for parents, children, grandparents, and families of every season to seek the Lord together.
Friday Family Watch will take place in the Sanctuary from 6:00–7:00 p.m., with an intentional emphasis on involving and discipling our children and young people. We hope to see many of them helping lead, serve, sing, play instruments, pray, read Scripture, and participate in worship as they learn what it means to minister to the Lord and serve the Body of Christ.
This is not simply a children’s event or a family program. It is a place where generations worship together and where younger disciples can learn by participating alongside parents, leaders, and the wider church family. At 7:00 p.m., Friday Night Intercession will continue as usual in the Parenting Room for those who want to remain and press into prayer together. Friday Family Watch is not replacing Friday Night Intercession, but creating an additional opportunity earlier in the evening for families and children to engage in worship and prayer together.
Whether your children are little, teenagers, grown, or you simply want to invest in the next generation, you are invited to come and be part of what God is building among us.

SUKKOT (FEAST OF TABERNACLES) 2026
Feast of Tabernacles / Sukkot 2026
September 23–27 + Community Potbless Meal on Saturday October 3
Join us as we celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) together as a church family!
Sukkot is one of the great biblical feasts of the Lord—a joyful time of remembrance, thanksgiving, worship, fellowship, and looking forward to the fullness of God dwelling with His people. Israel was commanded to live in temporary shelters and remember how the Lord faithfully provided for them in the wilderness. For us as followers of Jesus, the feast also beautifully points us to Emmanuel—God dwelling with us—and to the day when the dwelling place of God will be fully and forever with His people (John 1:14; Revelation 21:3).
Sukkot Community Meal | Saturday, October 3 | 5:00 PM
One of the highlights of Sukkot is simply being together around the table, so we are also planning a church-wide Community Potbless Meal.
We’ll gather around the table, share communion, enjoy a community meal, worship together, and celebrate God’s faithfulness as a church family.

Sukkot is ultimately a feast of joy and presence. It reminds us that our security is not found in permanent structures or earthly circumstances, but in the God who faithfully dwells among His people.

All Hands on Deck: Gathering unto Him
Sunday, October 11
Join us for a special Gathering Unto Him as we go deeper into the second ship of our Way of the Lord journey: Discipleship. This will be an “all hands on deck” night for our church family as we consider what it truly means to be disciples of Jesus—and to become the kind of people who help make disciples of others. We’ll worship together, pray, open the Scriptures, and create space to respond personally and corporately to the Lord’s invitation to follow Him more fully.
Discipleship is more than learning information about Jesus; it is a lifelong journey of abiding in Him, becoming like Him, walking in obedience, and helping others do the same. As we continue moving together on the Way of the Lord, we want every person to ask: What is the next small, faithful step Jesus is asking me to take as His disciple—and who is He calling me to help along the way?
Come ready to seek the Lord, grow together, and take another step forward as a disciple-making church family.
