MARRIAGE RESOURCES
STRENTHGENING MARRIAGES. RESTORING HOPE. GROWING TOGETHER IN CHRIST.
At Way of the Lord, we believe marriage is a gift from God and a sacred covenant designed to reflect His love, faithfulness, humility, forgiveness, and joy.
Every marriage needs encouragement. Some couples are doing well and simply want to keep growing. Some are engaged or preparing for marriage. Some are tired, stuck, or disconnected. Others may be walking through deep pain, broken trust, or crisis.
Wherever you are, we want you to know this: you are not alone, and there is hope.
Below are several biblically grounded resources, retreats, intensives, online courses, and counseling options that may help you take a meaningful next step toward deeper connection with God and one another.
For Couples Who Want to Grow, Reconnect, or Be Refreshed
The Ultimate Marriage Retreat
October 2–4, 2026 | The Wilderness Fellowship | Frederic, WI
The Ultimate Marriage Retreat is an in-person weekend retreat led by Jon & Amy Claussen of GoFam Ministries at The Wilderness Fellowship in Frederic, Wisconsin, about 1.5 hours from Blaine for an easy weekend getaway. The retreat begins Friday evening and concludes Sunday around midday.
This retreat is designed for married, engaged, and soon-to-be engaged couples who want to strengthen their relationship, reconnect with God’s design for marriage, and receive fresh vision for what their marriage can become.
The weekend includes teaching, worship, prayer, application time, couple-focused conversations, and opportunities for optional prayer ministry. Jon and Amy's teaching centers around Father’s original design and culture for marriage, uses a Biblical "plumb line” to build the ultimate marriage, and explores heaven’s bigger vision—far deeper and more transformative than typical views.
Best for:
Couples who want an in-person retreat experience, fresh encouragement, spiritual renewal, and practical next steps for growth.
Cost & lodging:
The retreat sessions are offered by suggested donation. Meals and lodging are separate. On-site Prayer Cabins may be available through The Wilderness Fellowship, but they fill quickly. Nearby lodging is also available in Frederic, Siren, and Grantsburg.

Hope Restored
Marriage intensives from Focus on the Family
Hope Restored is a faith-based marriage intensive program from Focus on the Family designed for couples who need significant help, focused care, and a structured environment for healing.
These 3-, 4-, or 5-day intensives combine licensed Christian counseling with biblical principles in a private, retreat-like setting. Couples work with trained therapists to address destructive communication patterns, emotional wounds, conflict cycles, broken trust, and disconnection. Since 2003, over 13,000 couples have attended, with the organization reporting strong long-term outcomes including high satisfaction rates and many marriages restored. The program includes pre-intensive consultation, the intensive itself, and ongoing aftercare support to help couples maintain progress at home. It is positioned as a focused, hope-giving alternative to traditional weekly counseling for Christian couples seeking rapid, spiritually grounded restoration.
Best for:
Couples facing serious disconnection, repeated conflict, betrayal, crisis, or possible separation/divorce.
Important note:
If there is abuse, coercion, intimidation, violence, threats, or ongoing danger in the relationship, please seek immediate help and safety. Marriage resources and intensives should never be used to pressure someone to remain in an unsafe situation. In those cases, pastoral care, professional counseling, safety planning, and appropriate authorities may all be necessary.

Christian Marriage & Individual Counseling Options
Retreats, courses, and intensives can be powerful, but ongoing counseling is also one of the most important steps many couples can take. A trained Christian counselor can help couples work through communication patterns, conflict, emotional wounds, trauma, intimacy, parenting stress, betrayal, forgiveness, and spiritual health in a more personalized way.
Here are a few Christian marriage counseling options that may be helpful. Please click the link below to contact each provider directly regarding availability, fit, cost, and insurance coverage.
